Dear Friends of the Kamuela Philharmonic:
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I thank you for the many thoughtful comments and suggestions intended to enable more lovers of live, quality, symphonic music to attend our concerts. We are, of course, elated to see full houses because our music is so well-received. But we regret that it is sometimes necessary to turn away concertgoers for lack of seats. Accordingly, we are seriously considering your suggestions, all of which are excellent.
Nevertheless, some require resources that are presently lacking. For example, many of you suggested repeating our concerts, but repeating a concert on the same weekend isn’t presently feasible due to several factors, including musician stamina and lack of time. And repeating a concert on the following weekend would entail additional costs for musician travel and overnight accommodations, even if they volunteered their time. Furthermore, the Kahilu Theatre might not be available on the following weekend.
Please be assured, however, that we will continue to carefully examine possible solutions, including increasing the number of regular season concerts, and finding larger venues. In the meantime, we sincerely appreciate your continued support and welcome your ideas.
Aloha and Mahalo Nui Loa,
President, Board of Directors
