Founded in 2004, The Voice of the Wood Cello Quartet is comprised of the cello section from the Evergreen Chamber Orchestra in Evergreen, Colorado. After performing “Voice of the Wood – Concerto for 4 Cellos and Orchestra” by living composer Russell Peck, the group realized that they really enjoyed playing together. They decided to make the commitment to perform as a group as much as possible. They now focus their energy towards performing in public schools to promote music education. They are also recording and taking newly arranged pieces and original compositions for the 4 cellos on tour in the United States.

This Home Concert Fundraiser will be held at the home of Larry and Wanda Beck It will include a formal recital and pupus. To make reservations, please call 884-5252. Directions will be provided to you at that time.

The Voice of the Wood Cello Quartet will also join the cello section for the Kamuela Philharmonic’s Winter Concert, January 6, 2008 at Kahilu Theatre. For additional information about this concert, please contact Kaori Mitani at 896-2153 or kaorim@aloha.net.
